Apply for a grant from the Mitchell and Friends Foundation.

Let us help.

Having a rare, life-threatening neurological disease is expensive. In addition to the ongoing medical bills and equipment needs, insurance companies can be reluctant to cover treatments and equipment that they do not deem necessary for medical conditions they do not understand.

Our growing network of supporters and donors wants to help. If you could use financial assistance, please complete a grant application below.

Please note the following:

  1. Grants may be awarded to any child or person diagnosed with Mitchell Syndrome, of any age.

  2. The Foundation is willing to assist families with children who have undiagnosed neurological diseases, in addition to Mitchell Syndrome. However, with limited resources, we have also decided to prioritize Mitchell Syndrome patients. All applicants must provide a letter from the patient’s doctor confirming a diagnosis of Mitchell Syndrome or confirmation that the patient remains undiagnosed despite extensive testing. Grants may be awarded to children with other undiagnosed neurological diseases, if the child is 18yo or younger

  3. While The Mitchell and Friends Foundation is willing to provide grant assistance for a variety of needs, we are currently not able to help cover school and tuition costs and experimental or unapproved procedures or treatments. There is no limit to the number of times families can apply for assistance. But as a new and small foundation, our ability to assist may be limited.
